Cloaked in the mystery of dappled light that filters through lingering fog, Tokyo presents a particularly magical place in this new series by Daiki Hosaka. The photographer haunts the streets, capturing the interaction of the light, the mist, and the city’s inhabitants as they go about their business, clouded in an almost sepia-tinted wave of color. A natural element that obscures the city, the mist swims around the foreground of Hosaka’s images inviting viewers to look beyond. As if unaware of the meeting of mist and sun, pedestrians move through the light without comment.
Daiki Hosaka is a Japan-based street photographer. On his long walks he is drawn to the alleyways of the city and the ancient ruins of the countryside. See more of his work here and on Instagram.
