At various exhibition meetings, we decided on a date so that we would collect in donations. I donated a massive bag full, it got sorted out into jackets that were £5 and everything else for £3. I was in charge of the clothes stool from 2-4, where we made around £150 for the day. I also took in a bidder from a student for the leather jacket of £40, I also bought some items from the stool donating £10 towards the income. I really enjoyed helping out and getting involved with the fundraising side of the exhibition, there was so many clothes that a few more market days need to be set up but thats all in progress at the moment. We have nearly made a total of £1000 with the 3 days of fundraising at the University, which is a lot more than I expected, so after an up and coming exhibition meeting we can talk about the other options available.
I still believe we need to open the project space where we have the whole room as a massive jumble sale, where there can be a variety of sections selling different types of objects, clothes etc. I also suggested about either a paypal all the funds can go to or a bank account for the money to go to, as students wouldn’t have the cash in hand, needing to find a bank or not being able to buy. So a chip and pin device or internet banking method needs to be discussed to try and get more money in so there is every opportunity to making the most we possibly can.
