Was ist Metaphysik?

Inspired by the philosophical work of Martin Heidegger, Italian artist Michele Durazzi makes storytelling through the architectural details. The artist develops a series of digital shots in which the human figure is almost like a mirage between bare and clearly geometric landscapes. In his surreal and minimalist compositions by lui, the human presence determines the scale, the vastness and at the same time the being-there, the heideggerian dasein. Consequently, the viewer is disconnected from reality and stimulated to build an own one, questioning his placement by him within the space.

Durazzi has created a world of surreal and grandiose buildings, an imaginary cityscape where the only limits he inflicts himself is a clear preference towards geometry and simple visual compositions. and contains. That is why, for each scenario, Durazzi lays a unique perspective for the camera and arranges the duality between human and construction carefully, using the white color to reduce everything down to the essential: the symmetrical structures and the exploration of details and textures.
