Over the years Madoz has been throwing a Herculean task on his shoulders. With a perseverance that has managed to turn into an unmistakable style, Madoz comes putting us in contact with those other possible worlds that surround us, a universe of objects as familiar as unknown, as close as irreducibly strange. The images of Madoz are a kind of conceptual distillation that, nevertheless, ends up acquiring an unusual ontological concretion. The first of the many paradoxes which his images assail us has to do with this opposition between the abstract of the construction process and the absolutely concrete result: real, physical but strangely unrecognizable objects that confront us, demanding that we decode their key anomaly logic.

But this recent series of photographs (2000-2004) allows us to see the presence of language in another sense: in some of them, words come to take on a leading role and become themselves objects.  As always, objects that keep at the same time that they transcend their original meaning. And the surprise returns once more. (Check out more of his fabulous artworks in his website in the end of this article)

“But if electrons can exist in parallel states hovering between existence and nonexistence, then why can’t the universe? After all, at one point the universe was smaller than an electron. Once we introduce the possibility of applying the quantum principle to the universe, we are forced to consider parallel universes.” ― Michio Kaku
